Can this be used as a stabilizer for handkerchief with only one layer?
Answer: It all depends on what you are going to do with it. If you want to embroidery on it, yes. Otherwise, when you wash it, the stabilizer will disappear. -

Is this like the polymesh that washes away?
Answer: No, Polymesh is thicker, whereas this is thin and clearish, and you can tear it away from design without washing out. -

Does it dissolve?
Answer: Yes, it dissolves. You can dab it with a wet cloth, and it disappears. You can also wash items in the washing machine, and the Solvy has dissolved. -

How heavy is the roll of 12 inches into 20 yards washable stabilizer?
Answer: It was not super heavy but worked well for what I needed. I did double it for some things. Hope that helps. -
