Question:
What video resolutions does the PTZ Optics 12X-SDI support?
Answer: It supports full 1920x1080p HD resolution up to 60 frames per second. -

Can I control the camera remotely?
Answer: Yes, it includes RS-232 and RS-485 ports for integration with larger control systems. -
Question:
What streaming options are available?
Answer: It supports H.264 and H.265 IP Streaming for high efficiency. -
Question:
Can a sony rm-ip10 remote control operate (control) this camera?
Answer: No, you may use PTZ optics controllers (HJ-Joy-G3 or PT-JOY-G3) or remote controller (which comes with camera), and also some software can do remote as well. -
Question:
Does this camera have built in mic? And can it be mounted on ceiling?
Answer: This PTZ camera does not have a built-in mic, but there is an analog audio input mini jack at the rear to input audio source. Can be wall or ceiling mounted, image can be flipped in OSD menu. PTZ Optics offers ceiling mount brackets. -
Question:
Let’s say you want a ptz camera about 60-70 feet away from the stage, would i be able to zoom in to a head to toe camera shot with this ptz?
Answer: After 60 feet you might want to use 20x instead. We have both 12x and 20x instock to ship same day. -
Question:
How does this mount upside down and what do I need?
Answer: The camera's OS lets you invert the image. -
Question:
Can this camera be ran through an iPad?
Answer: There are iOS aps for PTZ cameras, but I haven't done it. I always set these up using a controller and feeding HD-SDI into a video switcher. -
Question:
Why is the rs 232 input and output round instead of rectangular on this camera?
Answer: Just what the manufacturer decided to use...probably for space. There is a pin-out diagram online. -
Question:
Can it be controlled by rs485 pelco d protocol?
Answer: Yes, the spec sheet does list RS485 Pelco-D: https://ptzoptics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/PT12X-SDI-xx-G2-Data-Sheet-v1_3-rev-9-17.pdf -
Question:
I need to mount this on the bottom of a wide balcony at my church. Can this camera be used with a gimbal? If so, what brand is recommended?
Answer: No need as this is a PTZ camera (Pan-Tilt-Zoom). -
Question:
Can this camera be mounted upside down?
Answer: Yes, a ceiling mount is available and image can be flipped in the camera (via remote/menu settings). -
Question:
Can this camera be mounted on a tripod?
Answer: Yes, it can. It has a threaded hole on the bottom where a standard tripod mount could be screwed onto it.
