京商(Kyosyo) K.GPW17 Editorial Review
The Kyosho GPW17 Speed Controller has made a notable impact on its users, particularly among hobbyists who are engaging in the world of RC vehicles such as the Hang-On Racer. The compact design of this speed controller makes it suitable not only for motorcycles but also for small RC cars, such as those scaled 1/18. This versatility allows for adaptation to various builds, catering to different RC enthusiasts' needs. However, some users encountered challenges when integrating the controller due to proprietary connector limitations. It seems that the GPW17 only works with specific battery connectors, leading to frustration for those who prefer lithium polymer batteries over the standard nickel-metal hydride. While some users attempted to modify the connectors, it is generally recommended to stick with the intended setup, which can limit customization options. Additionally, the fitting for the switch is reportedly problematic; users have found that the controller does not align well with the chassis mounting points, indicating potential issues in design integration. Careful modifications are advised to prevent compromising the controller's structural integrity. Customers express mixed feelings about this product, appreciating its essential role for specific applications, yet facing hurdles with battery compatibility and installation. **
