Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What can the iSpring TDS2 Digital 2-Button TDS Meter test?
Answer: It can test the ppm level of hard water. -
Question:
Does it have an automatic shut-off function?
Answer: Yes, it has an automatic shut-off function that helps save energy. -
Question:
What does the hold button do?
Answer: The hold button retains the measurement value for convenient reading and recording. -
Question:
Pardon my ignorance but after you get the reading what do you compare the number to? I didn't receive any chart.
Answer: You do not compare it to anything the number is the amount of electro conductivity in your water(ppm of dissolved solvent witch are mostly minerals)Pure water that reeds 0 ppm does not conduct electricity. If you want clean drinking water try to filter it to were it is around 50 ppm that way you still get some minerals witch your body needs. If you are using it for mixing fertilizer for your plants you should not exceed 600 ppm when they are small and do not exceed 1500 ppm when plant are larger with more roots. -
Question:
Do it need a calibration solution?
Answer: Sure it works right out of the box, but i it accurate? The only way to know is with a calibration solution. Most meters are quite close when they are new, but as time goes by, the accuracy can decline. If you want accurate readings, get some calibration solution. -
Question:
Essential minerals are also picked up by TDS meters and that is not an effective to way to check or test water quality. True?
Answer: True. TDC=S meters usually measure the EC of particles to indicate TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Dissolved solids can be good or bad. -
Question:
Sirve para utilizar en bebidas de café?
Answer: This is a total dissolved solids meter -
Question:
How does this work? Does it need to be installed inline?
Answer: This model isn't currently installed on our water filtration systems but we're currently developing one which will be inline. This handheld device measures Total Dissolved Solids in water in parts per million (ppm). Press the on/off button. Place the bottom portion in a cup of water with the cap removed. The digital readout provides the ppm measure of TDS but will not distinguish what TDS's are measured. -
Question:
Can put the ispring tds3 meter in moist soil without damaging the sensor?
Answer: No -
Question:
Does the checker itself contain mercury?
Answer: No.. It is not a visually thermometer. It is an electronic meter. -
Question:
Do I need to purchase the 342 calibration liquid?
Answer: No, you can use any water for which you know the exact pH level. I use distilled water which is 7.0 pH. You can use the calibration liquid if you wish. But this is a "relative" tester and can be off +/- 5%. So if you want precision, get a precision instrument for a lot more money! -
Question:
Does this include batteries?
Answer: As it says, no batteries required, no batteries included. Good unit and very accurate for the price!
iSpring pH Meters Editorial Review
The iSpring TDS2 Digital TDS Meter is a handheld device that measures Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water in parts per million (ppm). The device provides accurate readings, and for most accurate results, calibration solution is recommended. The number represents the amount of electro conductivity in the water, which means the level of dissolved solvents of which minerals are the most common. Although dissolved solids may be both good and bad, the TDS meter only provides data on the level of dissolved minerals that are present. The device is not waterproof, so it cannot be placed in moist soil. It comes ready to use, and it does not contain mercury. Overall, the iSpring TDS2 Digital TDS Meter has been positively received by customers as it provides a quick and easy way to check the quality of water or monitor the level of dissolved minerals that plants are receiving. Calibration solution is recommended for those who want more accurate readings. However, customers must be aware that the device will only provide information on the level of dissolved minerals in the water and will not provide any insight into other contaminants.
