Answer: It is better to wash them with a mild Clorox solution and dish soap before using them for drinking water. While they may arrive clean, it is safer to wash them to remove any chemical residue. -

Answer: No, if they are true Scepter, they are made in Canada and of very good quality. -

Answer: No, the spout does not have an O-ring. The fill caps and vent caps do have O-rings. -

Answer: These containers can last indefinitely as long as they are taken care of. However, it is not recommended to store water for more than a year as it may become stale and develop a bad taste. Water should be rotated every 3-6 months. -
