Answer: Yes, the finish is perfectly suited for floors with underfloor heating. -

What is the application rate for this product?
Answer: The application rate is 8-10m² per litre. -

How long does it take for the finish to be fully hardened?
Answer: Approximately 7 days for full hardness to be achieved. -
Question:
Is this safe to use on lacquered wood furniture?
Answer: Bona recommends using this on bare wood. However, you can use Polyvine heavy duty interior varnish as an alternative if you have lacquered wood furniture. -
Question:
What are the drying times and recommended coats? When would I choose to use a primer with this?
Answer: Bona Mega is a high performance water based lacquer. It is recommended to use Bona Prime Classic as a first coat on bare wood. You should apply 2 to 4 coats with around 2 hours between coats. Do not apply more than 2 coats per day. Use a primer when applying to stained pine staircase. -
Question:
Can this be used for oak kitchen worktops?
Answer: Yes, Bona Mega can be used on oak kitchen worktops. However, it requires a 7-day cure before being put into full use. -
Question:
What is the VOC content of this product?
Answer: The VOC level of Bona Mega is 60g per litre. For comparison, a Hardwax oil has a VOC level of 500g per litre. -

Do I need to apply sanding sealer first before going on my stained pine staircase?
Answer: You should be ok as long as the stain is water based. -

Does it dry more or less clear?
Answer: Yes, Bona Mega dries clear and is very durable. -
Question:
I am putting this on a stained floor. Do I need to apply a primer first?
Answer: If your floor is hardwood and has been sanded, you can reapply Bona Mega without a primer. It should work on a stained floor, but it is recommended to consult hardwood flooring companies for advice.
