Virego Replacement for BB9-2 Black Filters Editorial Review
The Virego BB9-2 Water Filter is a replacement for Berkey Gravity Filtration System, Doulton Super Sterasyl, Nomad, Propur Traveler, King, Big Series. The filters can filter out many contaminants and are NSF certified. The filter can also be connected with white fluoride filters. However, these filters seem to be lighter and less dense than Berkey filters and some customers have reported that they break easily. Some customers also question the effectiveness of the filters due to the faster flow rate compared to Berkey filters, and the lack of data provided by the sellers on the filter's effectiveness. There were also concerns about the filters shedding material leading to tiny white and black flecks in the upper gravity chamber or not filtering the water enough. The taste of water filtered through these filters is reported to be different from Berkey's, however, it is still a decent alternative. The filters can last up to 6000 gallons per pair if used in the correct conditions.
